Panpeus (パンパス Panpasu), is the first enemy U-1 faces. He likes to cause mischief and possesses the ability to alter reality to some extent. His Axe Gitaroo is considered to be strong and flexible but it takes great skill to wield it.
History[]
After U-1 learns how to use the gitaroo from Puma he is overwhelmed, sitting on the ground of his room complaining and exhausted. Panpeus then appears from a vortex behind U-1 and threatens to chop him in half. Panpeus asks if he's Gitaroo Man, and U-1 becomes confused. Puma tells U-1 that he is Gitaroo Man and hands him his gitaroo. He then transforms into Gitaroo Man for the first time, and fights Panpeus. During the fight to the song "Twisted Reality", U-1's room becomes warped almost beyond recognition with Panpeus having brought various toys and objects from U-1's room to life. After U-1 defeats Panpeus, he says he won't be bad anymore and "I'll be good!", and gets sent back into his vortex. U-1 then acquires his gitaroo.
In VS Play, a blue Panpeus is playable along with the regular red version and Zowie for stage 1.

Trivia[]
- Panpeus's gitaroo plays electric-guitar-like music, and is an axe because electric guitars are commonly referred to as "axes".
- Panpeus's English voice actress Lisle Wilkerson is also the English voice of Ming Ming.
- Blue Panpeus's unused voice lines are slightly lower pitched versions of the regular Panpeus's.
